If you decide to take the first flight to NYC and get into the bus as soon as you can and stop at the Times square...be ready to see thousands and thousand of plays all over the corner!! this season, this year only 2010 is full of excellent productions with a high class of actors and sets ready to be nominated this year..is not scary? they have to make decisions by less than a month and decide which play is the best!.around 28 shows are running with 6 more to come, here are the top dog and under dog by gross:
Wicked (1,470,352),Billi Elliot (1,392,270),The Lion King (1,161,864),Jersey Boys (1,142,846), and A Steady Rain (1,096,463). leaving behind 23 more shows working hard to reach the top 5 as well at least before the Tony's nomination list.

as a remainder from the 2008 Tony's the winner was in the heights and we are very excited to see which musical is goint to climb the hill by this nominations. right now they have a few announcements for special awards and honors, which some of them are:

A life time tony for Alan Ayckbourn the author from 74 full-lenght plays, directed more than 300 productions and he was knighted in 1987 as Sir Alan on England.
The Actress Marian Seldes, her career expands more than six decades and were she was Ira Levin's long run Deathtrap were she appeared in all 1,809 performances.
And honors for excellence which are the institutions who have demonstrated an excellent achievement on the theater community are:
The alliance of resident Theater New York,they have near to 300 theaters in managing and earning the reputation as the leader of the community off Broadway.
B.H Barry, the best theatrical stage combat director with productions since 1982 til the show dividing the stage 2008.
And Tom Viola, his been honored for his commitment towards the fight against AIDS through Broadway cares and became executive director and he was honored before for a Tony on 1993.

so be ready to see the Winners for the shows this June or purchase the tickets, which they are available now for 429.50 and 229.50!!
i dont have the money to go or pay for a ticket but ill be ready with my bag of popcorn and pop ready to watch the best night ever..

we have seen this character for almost 40 yeas!!! on comics,books,mAGAZINES...amazing video games.. and of course what is left, movies!! but what about theater???? could you imagine SPIDERMAN on a MUSical??? Broadway maybe?? I DONT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but is here!! we will have spiderman on stage maybe by the end of the year..it seems they had Evan Rachell Wood for mery jane and we have seen her before with her amazing voice at the movie across the universe, the west wing and thirteen. but sadly she drooped the role the last week so right now the producer is still looking for a new Mery jane but Peter parker still be Reeve Carney >.when i saw the news is kind of scary think about a show like this, i guess is a way to show to the audience how the theater has change with the way of seen stories now we probably see spiderman jumping on the stage or throwing spider nets to the buildings ha!. who knows!!, i honestly cant imagine this character on real life, and the story is planned to be the same. or even seen spiderman singing..i think is hilarious i wish i could have the opportunity to see that.
the media and the audience is expending alot from this show specially now that the score is leading by U2 Bono giving surreal instructions to the musical. this show is approximately 40 million dollars!!the opening night is planned to be on New York on the Hilton theater.

Eiko Ishioka is going to design the costumes for the musical is an amazing designer who developed all the work on the Beijing Olympics Opening ceremony, cirque du solei's varekai and much more. also the work of George Tsypin for the set design, we have seen his sculptures before on the opera the Salzburg festival,la escala in Milan and New York.
According to the Wall Street journal, rockers and new singers are bringing new ideas and new type of fans to the stage, now that we have Bob Dylan,Bono, and Green day. including the Director Julie Taymor said that she was looking for powerful singers who sound different than any other musical singer actor. now that she has everything she needs besides Mery jane the whole cast is ready and looking forward the opening night at the end of this year.

Have you ever seen the 101 Dalmatians??? of course you have!..everybody knows Cruella De vil,one of the best creations on the history of Walt Disney.

during my childhood i saw every version of this characters. the first movie, including the second part and then my favorite one with Glenn Close with real human beings, i loved it the character of cruella is fantastic, she is amazing and evil just like it has to be..or just like i used to hate her when i saw the first movie.She said: "The character has always been one of my favourite villains,Cruella is the Devil. She's like the wind - she walks in and everyone's hair blows back."

well my fascination with this theme is because they just announced the 101 Dalmatians the musical produced by Dennis De Young, imagine that!! with real dogs on stage, creating choreography and everything. of course cruella is not Glenn Close, this time is Sara Gettlerfinger were the reviewers said that she is super energetic but something is missing with her..like is nothing new anymore and maybe having alittle bit of Glenn Close character, although i haven't seen the musical i saw some part of the opening on youtube which capt my attention on the character i think she is very professional and trying to be as much as unique she can but is hard to portrait a character with certain details that we already know. or sometimes i guess actors are scared to change the perspective of the character and have audience against it. but that's part of the challenge of acting don't you think?


"She brings nothing fresh to the table. taking her cue from the 1996 live-action and Ms. Gettlerfinger channels Gelnn close". without leaving behind the critics for the producer saying that the show thinks small.. starting with the dogs.
this comment is too much for my point of view, i think is a big deal to bring real dogs into a musical on stage is a big challenge for the actors and time for training the animals during the whole play.


plus we have to realise it that is not the same story as we have seen before is the real novel from the 1957 novel written by the British author Dodie Smith which also the music was inspired and produced by BT McNicholl . basically the novel is related to the present story but more contemporary i think, cruella's character is more like a classic villain.

well the fantastic musical announced the opening night on the theatre at Madison Square. bringing to the audience ideas like dogs in tutus,scout uniforms and kilts; concluding the review as a good production for "the family and a disarming moment, of a this charm-challenged mutt of a musical...."

Aw TwILiGhT KiLL Me noW..

well yesterday morning the director of "Dream girls" and "Chicago" Bill Condon declares that he is getting ready to direct the next film of Twilight. i did vomit!!.

According to IMDB, "sources at film company Summit Entertainment have confirmed that Condon has emerged as a favourite to land the coveted director role."
I really don't know why Universal studios likes to waste money with production like these, since i saw the first movie i couldn't even stand been there it was like watch the movie 2012 on a Wednesday night movie!! i wished i could had a rope in my pocket..i didnt even had money for popcorn, so i decided to laugh about it ha!.

the reviews from the saga are amazing it makes you run to the bookstore an read it, i remember when all the girls at the school were talking about "Omg threes the movie of Twilight, cant wait to see it". and blabla i was asking to my friends what kind of movie was and why everybody was so excited and they explained me about the book; and even more attracted to me because is a Best seller since the saga started until the present year.
but really after hear what people was talking after the movie i decided to not go and watch that kind of movies, everybody just talking about how cute the guys are and nothing else..what about the special effects? the plot?? and specially the acing!!


"they're strong enough to compensate for the comparatively amateurish Taylor Lautner as the shirtless wolf boy, whose subtext is the same scene to scene: Have you seen my abs?"..like really if i want to see a good movie i not going to watch a movie just because the amazing abs prefer to buy a magazine and buy posters about sexy boys with amazing abbs.
According to the Beyond Hollywood.com website they talk about the bad acting and all the young girls across the world are visiting the theaters because Edward is super HOT.

or rogerbert.com made this comment as well on the website giving the comment that is a teenager movie about a young guy trying to practice abstinence,there are no vampires on the film he said, is just a romance movie about two teenagers who wants to get together so much;"mesmerize its target audience, 16-year-old girls and their grandmothers. Their mothers know all too much about boys like this. I saw it at a sneak preview. Last time I saw a movie in that same theater, the audience welcomed it as an opportunity to catch up on gossip, texting, and laughing at private jokes".
is not all this sad? how people is not interested in good movies anymore specially young people thinking that a good movie is just because the actor who is in there? not because of the acting, development of the story..as an audience we are creating a new stereotyping of if you are cute you might make it into the big screen; what about the acting? now everybody can be on TV. like those reality shows now, but that's another story.

now and days this is what we have is the first impression of the viewers with a film, im not saying is for everybody but most of the audience is doing that even famous singers are acting on films now!! example Miley Cyrus!! anyways.

so it seems the director Billl Condon has booked already the next Twilight film..i guess alot of girls on campus are going to get crazy with the news!! agg will see what happens, i cant wait to see the reviews of the movie ha!

CoRbin BleU In ThE HeiGhTsMaNiA UnTiL JuLy!! wHo-HoHo

The super Actor from high School Musical Corbin Bleu decided to stay longer on the production he declares to the media that right now in The Heights is his priority. celebrating his birthday with the whole cast is he declares (his new family).
After the original Usnavi (Miranda) Corbin took his place taking his acting career into the top by winning a tony award for his debut in the musical on January 2010.
the media thought he was going to leave the musical so he can keep going with his future plan but today he told to the media that he was going to stay longer!! is not that amazing i don't imagine In The Heights with another dif actor!! he is amazing!!.

As many member of the Broadway cast IN THE HEIGHTS like Priscilla Lopez,Lin-Manuel Miranda,Daniel Bolero,Arielle Jacobs,Jose Luis Lopez,Sandy Alvarez and Seth Stewart left the musical to either they had more plans for thew future of just have a break of so much work during the five months they spend on rehearsal to make this play the Best Musical of 2008 winning the Tone Awards.


In the Heights is a Musical written by the musician, student and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda who wrote the play while he was on college.One day someone read the play and they asked them to directed and he decided to do it. he wrote all the lyrics the script etc. including he said that on the day they were casting he based his criteria with the real stories of the people who went to the audition related to his own story. as everybody can see the story in the Heights is the story of his life, every detail you see on stage is his life,his dreams.
so he said that after a conversation with the manager he asked them why if the story is about his life why he wasn't playing usnavi, so after thinking about it he decide to portrait usnavi.

After the Musical choose the rest of the cast the ones who replaced the last cast who left the show, they sing contract starting on February 28 of this year. most of the contracts ends by the end of May so most of them decide to keep going with their acting career on the next project cabaret cares.
Before i went to see the Heights on the Rodgers theater at NY i had the music with me and a certain idea of the play, i never wanted to see a video on youtube or something like i wanted to be just as how i imagined. one of my friends at the school saw one of the last show of the original cast and he told me about. to be honest i cry so many times during the musical but not because is a sad story is the nest play i ever seen in my life . just like you hear the music in your ipod! damn that's exactly of how it sounds!! IS PERFECT!!
by this time the new actor who was portraying Usnavi the actor Corbin Bleu was amazing i loved it but i guess some part of me wanted to see the production with Miranda. you should see the video i will post after this blog is amazing!!.

YoU SeE?? FaCeBoOk Is NoT ThAt coOL;;

Two days ago i got an e-mail from one of my friends back home..and as far as a few students know about what really its going on in Mexico; is not that bad as people think..the border has nothing to do with the real issue..the border is dangerous, it is..drugs..kidnapping of rich people etc. well since all this started happening like two years ago, the war between the drug dealing and stuff got worse and worse until the point the stoped kidnapping rich people or people involved on the business ..they began to get people no matter the social status or whatever their family were the just wanted to get some money no matter how much.
i remember when i got home in the summer people started talking about Facebook that we had to erase our information or change it, alot of my friends from back home change their last names on facebook and set the privacy on photos or wall because this people was using facebook or hi5 or my space to look for targets and information to get the young people.


it was a very scary situation because no body had any idea that it could happened to you and you don't have privacy on anything,everybody can see your photos wall etc..you know how many people that you don't even know have seen it? or they know about you but you don't have any clue about it. is scary. specially when this is happening.

the last week the reporter gave an speech and investigation about a girl who was found on facebook and the kidnappers identifier with photos on facebook they said the research first her social status, then her family, her job her normal activities etc until the found her..after a few weeks the media found her dead. these are the pictures of the girl she put on facebook and after two weeks as well.

while the media was interviewing the kidnappers they confessed before was hard to get their victims and information as well until the creation of facebook everything became easier for them.


i know this blog is out of my topic but i found it extremely important to students to know about this issue because this is not just can happen on Mexico..this situation has been happening alot since facebook, hi5 and my space were created.


one of the most famous was for Alejandro marti the son of the owner of the company Marti was kidnapped and he was killed ...they found every information about him from his facebook and his space..containing alot of information about him and his family making the job easier for the people to check and eye on him.

this is scary we definitely we must think twice what kind of information we are putting on. if all for our safety and our family and friends.

ThE CurTaiN CloseS FoR ThE MiRaCLe WoRkEr!! :(

so..after writing for almost an hour about this article that i read..i didn't save this crap i lost everything i wrote..I'm soo mad now i have to do it again ad to remember what i wrote is going to take me a while.

just like I'm feeling right now i guess that's kind the feeling they had on that moment of frustration maybe failure. and all because money,well i dint because of money mine is because my computer is crap but ..anyways...after seen the movie along time ago my first thought was OMG is freaking hard most of it if you are not blind or deaf.
then i read the play almost a year ago..reading stage directions and all that's stuff kept me busy just thinking about all the directions and everything..imagine all the time months and months of rehearsals blocking, working with those costumes from the time of the play was written everything comes into place.

as a actress i been involved on the school i know what it feels to not have the budget to build the best set ever, best lightning best everything but every time we have a production we always have to do something extra to do it, sometimes we help to build the stage and we learn how to do it.

every piece of the stage, the house the floor even every chair on the room means something to us..and that keep us working 110% everyday to me this kind of situation makes me more powerful and more motivated but i know we don't have enough resources to have the production we want and we complain lot because we cant do as much as we want bit is not our fault sometimes we have to get use to the idea of what kind of productions is going to be or what kind of props we have to relate it with or even the costumes are crappy sometimes but that's no reason to put all that job away.


but in this case when i read the article i was kind of sad i mean imagine all your work for nothing.. just because we can raised more money or reach the budget we thought it was going to be to keep the play on production for along time ad nothing. as i read i knew they try top have the performance at least for 2 more weeks but the producers said no and they had to stick on the idea of no doing that anymore, they had less and less audience every performance until they got into the conclusion.

the thing that made me mad was the fact that was the used of Mr. Richmathal describing Helen as a "Lil Sunshine and not as Blind or deaf" got the media crazy saying as an excused that it was also the acting and stuff like that i mean how you compete with something like that ..is just no fair and it makes me mad how the say anything about it but nobody really respect the work of the actors all the efforts they made to make that production real and truthful. is frustrated for me think about how a production like this depends so uch on money like everything in this world, imagine how many things would you do with tons of money ..well this is one of them. have to close a great production just because it wasn't getting a lot of audience or something like that, reach the limited budget to keep the play on.
and now i know that something like this may happen to me on the future and i have to know to confront that and keep going with my life because like i read before is all about business... if theres no money there is no show...you may can for whatever you want on the streets with your friends but a big production like this...never!!!

i mean look at the video of the preview of the play is fantastic and this girl is so young and so good..i have seen her before on TV shows and now seen her doping stuff like that is amazing how much you can grow from TV screen to the stage..been performing on stage it makes you much ore knowledgeable of you as an actor than TV , because you interact with your people 1005 percent of the time, is just great. is really to sad for me read something like this, but i guess that's how the professional world works, and i totally respect the work of these actors during the performance and if i would have the money to get a ticket i would definitely go without any problems.

why we are all actors? why people think acting is just on stage? acting is everywhere you apply that every single moment of your life, I'm not saying acting is an easy job but unconsciously people is acting. we are all actors.

Do you remember when you were little and you knew when your mom didn't wanted to buy your favorite chocolate or favorite toy... you cry YOU FAKE and you cry, because you know after crying she is going to get that for you. and as soon as we get older we start doing it more often, at work, with friends, society, family, with yourself including your boyfriend or girlfriend. because there is nothing more funny than, imagine you are talking with your boyfriend and you want to start fighting ..and you do it you act so well that you really looked angry that he believes in you and at the end your acting becomes reality and you began a real fight because you are that good on that. is not that funny?
or your professor at school or director want to talk to you and you need a backup..what you do? you FAKE, you make an story from nowhere and at the end is the perfect story ever..sometimes you can even cry!!..i remember when i was in high school most of my friends used to do that but once they get out of the director office they start laughing because he did believe on what they said!...you see we are all actors is all there!.
Oh! but get into an acting class.. tell me if can do it? hell no! because now you are shy, (people is watching you, you feel awkward, embarrassed and you start shaking all you want to do is sit with everybody else). buy why? you do that all the time and everybody is watching you as well!! everybody wants 100% the attention of people.well once you are on stage you got it so do it..but it is hard.


that's why i think everybody are actors everybody can do anything..but is not the same. that's the hardest part of been an actor..you don't fake anymore..you learned to make the story a reality, a real person, real feelings and most of the physical reactions are real from the inside to the outside..an exposition of you,way way on the ground. is a huge exploration of yourself to get into the point where you find the reasons why the character on the play is feeling that..why is doing that...and that's where all the magic comes out.
is beautiful..is not awkrness is the beauty of stand in front of people that you don't know and cry, or laugh or scream on the top of your lungs..and expos ion of the human being and that's the scariest part for someone who haven't done anything like this...i mean who likes to cry and have a lot of people watching..(no body for sure).or be naked maybe.

but if you think deeply we all do that..how important is to us cry with your best friend..or alone..when you want to scream and you run as fast as you can so nobody can hear, the love feeling.what you do? eat, cry, sing, but you don't express to anybody why. but people is watching; your best friend is watching you crying, when you thought while you were running that nobody saw you..well they did maybe your neighbor, the sky, the mountains or the same sun..we're never alone.

i was reading one article from Steven Fernandez about we all have masks and we hide alot of our identity..I'm agree with him but that's not everybody and like i said before,not everything on acting is fake...most of the best acting performances on drama even on comedy comes from background from the same actors that they feel related from..experiences from their lives that they feel connected with the characters and apply those feelings to it. and not everybody is like that. there are a few who really know who they are and what the feel and what they want. that doesn't mean that theres someone who have never lie before or fake a laugh or smile or a sad face,including crying.

he also talks about we are all actors and we live our on stage and we do..we create our environment, costume, make up objectives on life, decisions, super objectives, props..way of interact with people around you including language, you always think about what you are going to say,and if you wanna say something most of the time you have a reason to say it or if you are not thinking about it you still keep doins something, or an specific action. you decide your own way,either failure or develop the capacity to win and reach your goals until the final scene.

that's how life is, we have all the tools to make it real. to make your goal happened, your enemies your friends your lovers everything you do is because that's the way you wanted to.
we are all actors, either you are truthful with yourself or not. you don't have to be on stage to show that..is all there and you will always have someone there watching.

a lot of people might disagree with me but..that's why theater is for sometimes right? your free to do a lot of things that are impossible or not accepted by society on real life right? i mean imagine you can be whoever you want whenever you want..Doctor, dentist, teacher, athlete, a crazy woman, a ghost, a freaking alien!!!! or an avatar ha! imagine that..is not that awesome?

Why some students tend to gain weight and lose weight that fast?
the eating disorders continue to be on the rise among college students. the media is affecting our ways of thinking and ways of eating also, seeing celebrities with a small body or cute guys with the perfect body is affecting us so bad that some students struggle with their classes for spending too much time working out or to tired of doing exercises that is impossible for them to keep track of their homework and important things to do besides sports.

When the pressure gets together like on finals, or too much party and you had a lot of things to work on behind, alot of students turn into anorexia to block of what is happening. believing that losing weight is the one thing they can succeed. others turn into bulimia or a compulsive eating as a way to deal with pressures and emotions.

The Massachusetts Eating Disorders Association cites the following statistics on college student eating disorders:
• 15% of women 17 to 24 have eating disorders
• 40% of female college students have eating disorders
• 91% of female college students have attempted to control their weight through dieting

"be Smart and eat right", remember that you are the one that is taking care of your body, you have to respond to that and make sure you have the right fuels in your body to keep doing that you like and maybe not have the perfect body but be happy with what you have, and make other things your priorities like studies and yourself not just exercise and what society thinks about you. love yourself, because nobody else is going to do ti for you, a healthy life style it keeps you alive longer that you think.

Is all about CHEESE!!!!

I remember since i was around 4 or 5 , i used to go over the kitchen any time of the day and grab that huge block of cheese and have the biggest bite ever...you could see the shape of my mouth on the white and tasty Mexican cheese. omg my mother used to get sooo mad.

but man cheese is the best invention ever i don't care how much fat has or how bad is for you, you know, the taste is amazing. plus it makes everything different, taste is better with cheese and omg the shape of the cheese when is melting on your quesadilla or on your pizza...one of the best moments of my life!!.

I think before it was crazy the amount that i used to put on every meal i had back home, it was on everything it was more cheese than rice or spaghetti or whatever i had on my plate.. until i get here. is top eating that much cheese i still do it but here is so expensive i mean back home for a big block is 5 dollars and here is like 20!! for a good block or cheese or maybe more. i really wanted to kill myself, there's no way i was willing to buy cheap cheese i mean i know every kind of cheese and i know every flavour of it !! is my biggest addiction every besides coffee or raisins i guess this one is the number one for sure. but the cheeses here never melt never or it does but i takes for ever or sometimes is so cheap that it melt fast and it doesn't have any taste.. OH God it makes me soo mad eat my quesadilla or pizza with hard cheese like once is fresh the cheesse is awesome you can see the cheese stretching while your getting you slice of pizza or a bite of your quesadilla, but never stays!! if you leave it for 3 min it gets hard and is not the same!!! i hate that sooo much!!!.

oh but nothing like the Mexican cheese.. stays for ever, taste is oh i wish i could explain i cant even describe the taste in my mouth because i don't even remember hahaha!!!..

When i go home the first thing i have is cheese just a slice so my mouth can remember the taste, and my mother know that if there's no cheese in the house. there's no way we can't eat, is like for us tortilla is essential for every meal..well cheese is essential in my house..aw and i love to have white cheese and jalapeno. cheese on my quesadilla with tons of jalapeno and tomato!!! oh best combination ever ..with avocado..oh God kill me now, is 12:30 am and i wish i could go home and make myself a quesadilla right now hahaha!!. i remember one time i ate so much cheese for a whole week that i couldn't go to the bathroom, i thought i was going to die, i was going to explode!! until i knew it was the cheese but i didn't care..

Aw like fresh cheese,it has an crumbly texture, and when they are heated they do not melt, but they do become soft and creamy without losing their shape.

you can also slice fresh cheeses into sticks or tubes and fry it without breading and it will become brown and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. i just can imagine the smell with right now. just like my favorite one is the "asadero cheese" ow with BBQ is the best ever!!!.

For sure one of the biggest reason that i would like to go back to Mexico ill do it for the cheese we really do have the best cows ever . i went to Wisconsin two weeks ago and they supposed to have good cheese and they do, but nothing is better than home made cheese man. There's a fabric on my city. you can buy your cheese and is just fresh out of the machine or oven i dont evern know how they made this. just like my mother said" it just came out fresh from the cow".

For all the America Latina Soap Operas are the best shows on the TV , to me is like the same story over and over again either rich guy falls in love of a poor girl, but the family is not agree with it then the girlfriend or either the mother of the guy is the one who tries everything to stop the weeding or their love. and that's it at the end they get together and they are happy for the rest of their life's and finally the evil people disappears.

is the same story over and over again, and people like that, people's reaction is amazingly insane, they cry, they show so much passion for the show, even there's a lot of people that cant wait all day to see whats is going to happen that night!!!...i mean is sooo stupid!!! they know what is going to happen at the end anyways.

and the acting is horrible, people feels is that easy to go and act like is nothing!!!, or because you have a pretty face you are the best actor ever!!.. you have seen actors on Soap Operas that suck so much on TV and then doing theater..that's even worse. there's no way i can't let myself to do that or to watch that it makes me terrible mad.

if you say in America Latina that you want to be an actor first thing people say is " so you ready to do some novels?", that's the kind of knowledge that people knows in that part of the world..mos of them don't have any clue what a good acting is.

one of my uncles was a great actor, he used to do a lot of theater. but then he had job on Televisa one of the best TV industries in Mexico as a director and last Christmas i asked him how he could direct actors who have never have any training or any acting background and they suck acting. he said " that's why i fought a lot with the actors". two years later he quit.

I'm not saying all of them suck but if you go to different cities on Mexico you will find a lot of theater and a lot of REAL actors, with an amazing training and they are not even famous at all but their job is worded to see, and all the bad acting is full of "famous" people and "beautiful" people is on TV....doing nothing.
