Two days ago i got an e-mail from one of my friends back home..and as far as a few students know about what really its going on in Mexico; is not that bad as people think..the border has nothing to do with the real issue..the border is dangerous, it is..drugs..kidnapping of rich people etc. well since all this started happening like two years ago, the war between the drug dealing and stuff got worse and worse until the point the stoped kidnapping rich people or people involved on the business ..they began to get people no matter the social status or whatever their family were the just wanted to get some money no matter how much.
i remember when i got home in the summer people started talking about Facebook that we had to erase our information or change it, alot of my friends from back home change their last names on facebook and set the privacy on photos or wall because this people was using facebook or hi5 or my space to look for targets and information to get the young people.
it was a very scary situation because no body had any idea that it could happened to you and you don't have privacy on anything,everybody can see your photos wall etc..you know how many people that you don't even know have seen it? or they know about you but you don't have any clue about it. is scary. specially when this is happening.
the last week the reporter gave an speech and investigation about a girl who was found on facebook and the kidnappers identifier with photos on facebook they said the research first her social status, then her family, her job her normal activities etc until the found her..after a few weeks the media found her dead. these are the pictures of the girl she put on facebook and after two weeks as well.
while the media was interviewing the kidnappers they confessed before was hard to get their victims and information as well until the creation of facebook everything became easier for them.
i know this blog is out of my topic but i found it extremely important to students to know about this issue because this is not just can happen on Mexico..this situation has been happening alot since facebook, hi5 and my space were created.
one of the most famous was for Alejandro marti the son of the owner of the company Marti was kidnapped and he was killed ...they found every information about him from his facebook and his space..containing alot of information about him and his family making the job easier for the people to check and eye on him.
this is scary we definitely we must think twice what kind of information we are putting on. if all for our safety and our family and friends.
